Make a Difference – Become a Saahas Volunteer
At Saahas, we believe in creating a well-informed and compassionate society where organ donation is widely understood, accepted, and encouraged. Our approach focuses on awareness, education, and action to bridge the gap between organ donors and recipients.
To inspire and empower individuals to pledge their organs by spreading awareness, addressing misconceptions, and promoting ethical organ donation practices. We strive to save lives by increasing the number of organ donors in India through education, advocacy, and collaboration.
Organ donation is the process of giving an organ or tissue from one person (the donor) to another person (the recipient) who requires a transplant. Organs that can be donated include the heart, kidneys, liver, lungs, pancreas, intestines, and tissues such as corneas, skin, and bone marrow.
Organ donation can be life-saving for individuals suffering from organ failure or certain medical conditions. In many instances, organs are donated after the donor’s death, known as deceased donation.
Donating organs is a selfless act that can provide someone else with a second chance at life. This process typically involves registering with an organ donation registry.
A future where no life is lost due to organ shortages—where organ donation is embraced as a norm, and every individual has the opportunity to receive a second chance at life. Saahas envisions a society driven by compassion, awareness, and proactive participation in organ donation.
